Comparison
The best chatbot for WordPress, compared on how it bills you.
Most WordPress chatbots are priced per conversation or per resolution, so the cost follows your traffic. Here is what the main options charge, and what that works out to at ordinary volumes.
Side by side
| Tool | How it bills | Listed pricing | 200 conversations | 500 conversations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tidio | Subscription plus a fee per conversation | From $29 a month plus $0.50 per conversation | $129 | $279 |
| Intercom | Per AI resolution, with seats on top | $0.99 per AI resolution, seats billed separately | $198 plus seats | $495 plus seats |
| Drift | Enterprise subscription | From $600 a month | $600 | $600 |
| Off Hours AI Chat Agent | Flat subscription with an included allowance | $49 a month, 500 conversations included | $49 | $49 |
Competitor pricing verified July 2026. Intercom seat costs are not included in the figures above.
Per conversation billing punishes a chatbot that works
Every extra question your chatbot answers is another line on the invoice. A busy month, a seasonal rush, or a page that suddenly ranks well all arrive as a larger bill. The tool getting better at its job is the thing that costs you more.
Per resolution billing has the same shape
Intercom charges per AI resolution rather than per conversation, and adds seats for the humans. It is a cleaner metric, but the direction is identical: more successful answers, more money.
Enterprise pricing is a different product
Drift starts around $600 a month and is built for sales teams with a pipeline to route. For a dental practice, a plumber or a small shop on WordPress, most of what you pay for there stays unused.
What a flat subscription changes
Off Hours includes an allowance in the price. If you reach your limit the chat switches to a simple contact form for the rest of the month and we email you. We never bill you for extra conversations. You can read the plan before the month starts and the number does not move.
Which one should you pick?
If you have a sales team and a pipeline, Drift and Intercom are built for that. If you run a small business site on WordPress and want questions answered and phone numbers captured while you are closed, a flat subscription is the cheaper and more predictable shape.
